A J restoration is an architectural stonemasonry and brick and flint restoration business, set up and run by Alister Chadwick who has over 18 years experience of specialised architectural restoration across England and Wales. Covering mainly East Anglia, I can advise on all your stone , brick and flint work repairs and restoration, and carry out all work personally.
From a modest victorian cottage to more grand designs, your property can be sympathetically  restored to its original glory, using  traditional skills and materials.
I have extensive experience of working on English Heritage, CADW, National Trust sites and listed buildings, as well as new buildprojects in stone. I undertake repairs and restoration of garden masonry, such as monuments, statues, fonts and folly's, and can also offer stone on a supply only basis.
I also undertake restoration of brick and flintwork, replacing decayed bricks and offer  specialised re-pointing  to return brick and flintwork to its original and natural state. This also can involve paint and render removal.
With the services of an experienced letter cutter and carver, we undertake renovation of memorial stones, as well as supply and fixing of new memorials, using traditional stone, for church yards and cemeteries.
I aim to help my clients achieve exactly what they require by offering a professional service and the highest quality of craftsmanship. I hold a historical buildings specialist restorer CSCS card.
