A J restoration is an architectural stonemasonry, brick and flint restoration business, set up and run by Alister Lingard who has over 25 years experience of specialised architectural restoration across England and Wales.

Covering mainly Norfolk, I can advise on all your stone , brick and flint work repairs and restoration, and carry out all work personally.
From a modest victorian cottage to more grand designs, your property can be sympathetically  restored to its original glory, using  traditional skills and materials.

Much of my work involves restoration and repair of Church and Chapel buildings, the surrounding walls and War memorials.
I have extensive experience of working on English Heritage, CADW, National Trust sites and listed buildings, as well as new build projects in stone.
I also undertake restoration of brick and flintwork, replacing decayed bricks and offer  specialised re-pointing  to return brick and flintwork to its original and natural state. This can also include removal of decayed render and re render in Lime.
I am also available for consultation visits and reports.
I aim to help my clients achieve exactly what they require by offering a professional service and the highest quality of craftsmanship.
Please use the gallery link on this page to view a small selection of past projects. The images at the top of this page show work at the new Song School at Chester Cathedral.
